To change the width of a field, drag the divider line between the field names.

If for some reason you want to adjust the width of the field numerically, you can do so with the Field Blueprint Dialog.

In this dialog, the width is specified in characters, not an absolute dimension like points or inches. If you specify a width of 12, there will be approximately enough space to display 12 characters (some characters are wider than others, so this is not exact). The absolute width depends on the font size being used.
