The Blueprint dialog sheet allows you to view and modify the raw specifications of the current field. Usually you would use the property panels for this (see Field Properties Panel), but the blueprint allows you to directly access the “source code” for any field. Choose Field Blueprint from the Field menu to open this dialog.

Of course usually it is easier to simply use the Field Properties Panel, but the blueprint does allow you to quickly see and potentially modify all field attributes.

An excellent use for the Field Blueprint Dialog is to take a field in one database and make an exact clone of it in another database, as is shown in this movie. This is done by using copy and paste to transfer the entire blueprint to the second field.

The text in the dialog is actually program code, so you can also copy it directly into a procedure.
