You gather correctly -- Panorama Enterprise relies heavily on technology
introduced in Panorama 5.0 and 5.5. So 4.0 is definitely out as far as
connecting to the server goes.

We are getting very close to releasing Panorama 5.5.1, which will also
be the first "official" release of the Panorama Enterprise server for
MacOS. At that point the decks will be cleared and the bulk of our
development efforts will shift to the Windows version. Personally I
can't wait to get to it! Since we've been through the Windows conversion
before I'm hoping that this won't be a super extended process (and it
will help that there should be little in the way of new documentation to
write), but unfortunately it's a bit premature to disscuss specific
timeframes.
