My USB thumbnail drive is DOS formatted, because I need to use it on 
both Mac and PC computers. I have no problem with type/creator codes 
for my Panorama files getting lost, because those files all 
originated on an OS X computer. The problem occurs when a DOS 
formatted drive is used to transfer files from an OS 9 computer to an 
OS X. Both operating systems have ways of preserving the resource 
fork and type/creator codes on DOS formatted drives, but it's not the 
same way, and neither recognizes the other way of doing it.
