Array Separators

Finding suitable characters for data arrays has always been a
challenge for me... particularly when the data is likely to contain
the usual suspects, like CR and tab. I've discovered that chr(0), one
of my workhorses up until now, has problems in executed procedures.
And then there's the fact that PC's and Macs don't agree on all the
characters. either. Trying to do a little research, I stumbled onto
this link:

Wow. It looks like there might be lots of potential candidates in the
control characters. I wonder, though, if some of the more arcane
characters (audible bell, substitute character, device control, start
of header or text, etc.) aren't still being used somewhere, or have
acquired new assignments. Does anyone know which of these characters
might be good, or bad, and why?

Thanks

M
