Thanks for your reply David. It's going to take me some time to work
out how to truly deal with Permissions via Panorama, but your
response is now saved with my files to review and digest.

Some of what I've learned through a lot of trial and error is that
the first two digits in GetFilePermissions are 16 if the target is a
file and 33 if it's a folder.
Using the example for SetFilePermissions in the Panorama Reference,
using just 406 sets a file's Owner, Group and Others to rw r_ r_ but
GetFilePermissions on it shows 33188. SetFilePermissions using 33188
gets the same result as the 406.
Using a UNIX Permissions tool shows the same file's permissions as 644.

While experimenting, I also discovered that using a folder name for
the file parameter to deal with a folder on permissions also works to
rename a folder with FileRename. Very useful.
It doesn't work on FileTrash.
