No my server is setup with an internal ip address. It seems to be the
same with my finder, if I want to connect to another computer on the
internal network (over the vpn) I have to specify its ip, if not in my
network it wont auto detect it. So I feel I had to do the same with
panorama which was not able to 'see' the local server automatically I
had to make panorama scan for it first.

Thanks James for pointing me to New Sharing Generation that simplify
my life so much ! I will try it after hours.
