No, there's no extra step needed. The client database doesn't care if
the file is being shared via internet sharing or locally, the same
database will work either way. I do that all the time with databases on
ProVUE's server. When I'm in the office, local sharing is used, but when
I'm on the road the exact same databases work fine over the internet. It
all works seamlessly.

Also, you don't need to "send" anyone a file. They can download it from
the server themselves using the Download Shared Databases wizard. Also,
it sounds like you are actually updating files they already have. In
that case, you should use the "New Sharing Generation" feature and
Panorama will automatically download the updated files the next time a
user tries to open them.
