VPN connection

Not exactly. Internet sharing causes the server to use TCP/IP as its
communications protocol, which is the protocol the Internet uses, as well as
internal LANs. VPN (Virtual Private Networking) is a process that allows a
user outside of your network to connect to your network in a way that makes
it seem like he is a member of the local network, and can use its resources,
such as Enterprise Server. Your router/firewall must be set up so that it
supports this kind of connection, and your client machine requires client
VPN software to make the connection. Once you¹ve made that connection, you
can run programs as if you were locally connected to that network. VPN
requires TCP/IP protocol, it will not work with AppleTalk, or Apple Events,
or Bonjour. There is no reason to be wary of turning on Internet sharing.

So if I use internet Sharing then am I using really the VPN ? For me the VPN
was mostly to not have to open the internet Sharing.
