can't install Pan4Win problem

My client has downloaded Pan 4 Windows but can't get the Pan  
installer to work. Suggestions much appreciated:

Per our conversation this morning, I am unable to load Panorama on my  
laptop.  I tried to submit a help ticket through Provue’s  website  
and I was prohibited because I do not have a serial number.  This is  
what I typed in my help ticket.  Can you please forward this to Craig  
(I do not have his email) and ask him to give me a call to coordinate  
with Provue.  It would be great if I could have this corrected today  
as I am behind schedule on my project due to the delay in receiving  
the CD.

C&D Publishing has provided me with a CD of data that utilizes  
Panorama for manipulation.  I have successfully downloaded the  
windows installer for 4.0.2.  On the "Open File - Security Warning"  
window, I click run to run Panorama Windows Installer.exe.  On the  
"Self-Extracting Archive" window, I click 'ok' to extract files.  The  
files appear to extract properly as a "Panorama Windows Web  
Installer" folder is created on my desktop.  Within that folder, I  
click on the "Install Panorama Application" file.  At this point I  
receive an "Unhandled Exception" error.  The details are Unhandled  
exception: c0000005 ;  At address: 0048301e ; Top of stack: 00000172.

I'm running Windows Vista Business on a brand new Dell Latitude D830.
