Runtime error in call( procedure

One client in our small network (all running Pan 5.5, Enterprise 5.5) has
been having this error pretty much ever since we installed 5.5 a week or so
ago. He is the only one with this error, but otherwise is just like other
clients (running Leopard). He launches Pan by double-clicking on the main
database file, which has an .Initialize procedure that opens everything
else. This is how everybody does it.

In his case, the first thing that happens, before any sign of the database
file appears, is this error. It is fatal in that nothing further in the
.Initialize executes, and Pan remains open but idle. If he relaunches the
database file (with Pan running), everything works fine this time, except
that right at the end of .Initialize this error pops up again. The error
apparently happens at or very near the end of .Initialize; his Pan session
seems to work normally after that. So far, I can¹t determine where in the
procedure this error occurs. I don¹t use call( in any of my procedures, so
this must be arising deeper down.

Anybody seen this? Anybody know what¹s going on, or how to fix it? I plan
to reload his files from a client without the problem, but I¹m leaving it as
is for now in case I need it for troubleshooting.
