Not a bad choice. And using the term tables is not a bad thing either
but just recognize that for many people, their single table is their
database. Using the term 'table' is more sensible. (Kinda like the
users who say that they are not using a multiuser OS cuz their
computer is just set up with them as the only user.)

Using Panorama 4 (under Classic) is not a bad idea. This could keep
things simpler for you. You might need to obtain Panorama 4.0 from
ProVUE and run it under Classic (provided that you are not running
Leopard where this is not easily done). If you are running Tiger or
anything prior to OS X 10.5, then under Classic, running Panorama 4
will make it idiot proof to program for both the Windows side and the
Mac side (but of course you will need a Windows Panorama 4 license to
do the testing and such on the Windows side.)

There really is not any server side for a Windows user. Only for Mac
users at this time. (Unless you are only talking about web access.)

No.

If I was a betting man, I'd not bet on the near term.

Back in the Panorama 4 days, I used to tell everyone that with
Panorama, I could make their computers 'dance and sing' and I still
feel that way. The best method for not getting caught up in the
enhancements of Panorama 5 is to leave it alone and just work in
Panorama 4. The modifications that you have to make to have your
Panorama 4 databases work will be minor. You will just have a big
Christmas present to open on that day that Panorama 5 is available to
Windows clients.
